What have you done so far
The idea was originally thought of while attending college at the Wharton School. All I kept seeing was everyone going to school alone and for individual purposes. Yet, I was active in the military at the same time and the concept of doing everything solo, just didn’t fit that scenario. The introduction was written and given to one professor and asked to be read. From this and from his lengthy discussion on the topic the inspiration to make it happen was born.
The plan on how to get from just an idea to a working program is only three simple steps. The first, the plan, has been detailed out here. Next, someone famous to get me an introduction to a Private Equity Fund or a person or foundation that would like to do the Project, i.e. - The Gates Foundation, then to the World Economic Conference in Davos Switzerland. The WEC has the power to get the attention of colleges and universities, for example, a pilot program of the Ivy League Schools.
The intention of a famous person, or someone that would not be hung up upon by The Gates Foundation, T. Boone Pickens, etc., as I have for so long, so I may present the program to them. For more than 22 years I have worked on the project and never been able to get in contact with any such person. None have ever returned my calls, letters or packages that were sent. The list is long of the people I have tried. Below are just a few.
Chris Kennedy of the Kennedy’s and the Merchandise Mart in Chicago
Oprah Winfrey
Sam Zell
Bill and Melinda Gates
The Gates Foundation
Barack O’Bama when he was senator for Illinois
Michael Joyce of Hargrave Yachts in Ft. Lauderdale
The McCormick Foundation
Morgan Freeman
Public relations companies in Miami, Chicago, Key West, Ft. Lauderdale
Sea Shepard Foundation
Ted Danson - because of his organization with the Oceans
Oceana
SaveTheBlue.Org
Skoll Foundation
Clinton Foundation
Sylvia Earl of Mission Blue
T. Boone Pickens
Ted Turner
Not included on the list, are many other people who would not be recognized by name.
I believe the problem is this. The concept is an idea. To the average individual it can’t be seen. I am obviously the problem and the way I have attempted to present it. Just a guy with an idea. An idea to most, by people who are busy enough with their daily lives. Going to work, raising their kids, attending baseball and soccer games, student teacher conferences, paying their mortgage and just busy making it through life. They don’t have the time or can’t grasp how to end illiteracy, how cleaning the oceans can provide a sustainable food source for all the world, indefinitely. They can’t grasp the importance of fresh drinking water for the planet when they live in Michigan and have access to 20% of the earth’s available water at their disposal by simply raising a lever.
For this reason, I have attempted to contact leaders in the world. Highly, successful people, companies, foundations and visionaries. But, no attempt has ever worked.
This is why I am now making my project known to the public and creating a website. Hopefully a website that has the ability to clearly spell out how it can be made to happen. Hopefully, through a website, the possibility can be understood.
I’m a simple working boat captain. But I can clearly see how the program can be made into existence. If given the opportunity, I can easily sell this idea to The Gates Foundation, The Clinton Foundation, to T. Boone Pickens, to Donald Trump. If, given a brief audience, I am confident I can convince them of its power and potential. It is business; and it is education, all tied into one. Why try and simply pay to have world problems solved, when the problems them self can be solved through education, working alongside businesses and the world, all profiting from the results.
I want to work on the creation of this program. After 20 years of making little progress how I have previously tried, I will put this on the social media avenue. Hopefully, I will not loose it to the world and my idea be taken from me while someone else creates what I have dreamed.
